Talking to someone qualified in Faridabad — without the awkwardness

What the pressure looks like here

Faridabad is a city built around work. The industrial belts along Mathura Road and the NIT and Ballabhgarh sectors pull in people who came here for a job on the line, in a workshop, or in a small unit that can’t afford a bad month. A lot of that work is shift work, and a lot of the families here moved from somewhere else to do it, which means the people you’d normally lean on are a train ride away.

That produces a particular kind of strain. Long hours, a wage that doesn’t leave much room, a commute that eats what’s left, and a sense that stopping to deal with how you feel is a luxury other people get. People turn up having carried something for years because there was never an hour in the week that belonged to them.

The other Faridabad story is the student stuck between a city that’s technically Delhi NCR and a Delhi that feels a world away — travelling hours to a coaching centre, or quietly deciding they can’t ask their family to fund one.

If this is an emergency: counselling isn't a crisis service. If you or someone near you is in immediate danger, or having thoughts of self-harm, call Tele-MANAS on 14416 now. It's free, it's 24×7, and it's run by the Government of India. Or go straight to the nearest hospital emergency department. Please don't sit and wait for a session.

What counselling in Faridabad can help with

These are the things people in Faridabad bring to a first session most often. You don’t need a diagnosis to book one, and you don’t need a crisis. "Something feels off and I can’t explain it" is a perfectly good place to start.

What is already available in Faridabad, and what’s missing

Faridabad isn’t short of hospitals. Amrita Hospital out towards the bypass is one of the largest in the country, and the ESIC medical college serves a lot of the industrial workforce. If you need a psychiatric assessment or things are severe, that care exists.

What’s much harder to find is an unhurried conversation when you aren’t ill — just worn down, anxious, or quietly not okay. Private therapy in NCR runs ₹1,500 to ₹3,000 a session, which for a shift worker or a student means asking for money and explaining why, which for a lot of people means not going at all.

Sessions here run online, at a slot you pick around your shift, and the first one is ₹249.

Confidential means confidential

Price isn’t what stops most people in Faridabad from booking. It’s the worry that someone will find out. So, plainly:

One limit, and every counsellor anywhere works under the same one: if your life or someone else’s is at serious risk, your counsellor will talk to you about bringing in someone who can keep you safe. With you, not behind your back.

Who you’ll be talking to

Sachin Bajaj has an M.Sc in Clinical Psychology from Gurugram University and a PGDGC from Jamia Millia Islamia, and has worked with more than 500 students and families across India. You get the same counsellor every session. No app shuffling you between strangers who each need the story from the top.

What this is, and what it isn’t

It’s counselling support, not treatment: confidential conversations about what you’re carrying and what might help. We don’t diagnose conditions and we don’t prescribe medication, and this isn’t an emergency service. If what you describe needs a psychiatrist, your counsellor will tell you so in the first session and help you find one. You won’t be sold a package instead.

What a session costs in Faridabad

₹499 for 45 minutes, and your first one is ₹249 with the code FIRST50. Private counselling in India usually runs ₹1,500 to ₹3,000 a session. You’re not signing up for a course of treatment here. You’re booking one conversation, and you can stop after it.

Frequently asked questions

Will my employer or factory know I booked a session?

No. This is completely independent of any workplace or ESIC programme — your employer isn’t involved, isn’t told, and isn’t billed. You can book using a first name only.

I work shifts. Can I get a session that fits?

Yes. You pick your own slot from the live calendar, and daytime slots that suit a night or rotating shift are available. Sessions are online, so nothing is added to your commute.

Is this available in Hindi?

Yes — Hindi or English, whichever you actually think in. For most people in Faridabad the difficult parts are much easier to reach in Hindi, even when work runs in English.

My problem is really money and workload. Can counselling help?

It can’t change your pay or your hours, and it would be dishonest to pretend otherwise. What it can help with is the part you do carry — the worry, the sleep, the boundaries, and working out what, if anything, you want to change. Sometimes the honest conclusion is that the situation is the problem, not you.
