Already in college — and quietly rethinking it all
The stream question was supposed to settle things. Instead, a year or two into a degree, a new set of doubts shows up: this branch isn't what I expected, my interest has shifted, everyone's talking placements and I don't know what I'm aiming for, should I do a master's or start working, is study abroad worth it? These questions are just as consequential as the ones you faced after Class 12 — but far fewer students get help with them.
Career counselling for college students exists precisely for this stage. Sachin Bajaj — M.Sc Clinical Psychology (Gurugram University), PGDGC (Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi) — conducts every session personally, online. One evidence-based conversation turns a vague, anxious "what now?" into a specific, ranked plan you can actually act on this semester.
The college crossroads we help with
- Wrong-branch doubt — you're in a degree that no longer fits, and you're weighing whether to switch, add a specialisation, or redirect after graduation without losing the years already spent.
- The placement-vs-purpose gap — everyone's optimising for placements; we help you aim at roles that actually suit your strengths, so the job you land is one you want to keep.
- Higher studies or job? — master's, MBA, or work experience first — decided on where you're actually headed, not on what your batchmates are doing.
- Study abroad — whether it fits your goals and profile, and how to choose a course and country on evidence rather than agent advice.
- Skill and specialisation direction — which certifications, internships and skills compound toward the career you want, and which are noise.
The format is simple: first a validated psychometric assessment, then a 45-minute 1:1 conversation, and finally a written roadmap you can keep.

Guidance by degree — where each path can lead
Your degree opens more doors than campus placements advertise. Explore the fuller map for your stream:
- Career options after B.Tech — beyond the default software role.
- Career options after B.Com — finance, CA, analytics and more.
- Career options after B.Sc — research, data, allied health and industry.
- Career options after B.A. — civil services, media, law, psychology and design.
Validated psychometric testing — not a DMIT camp
Any counselling that leans on fingerprint-based "DMIT" testing should be walked away from: DMIT has no recognition in mainstream psychology and cannot measure interests, aptitude or personality. Lume Live uses only validated frameworks — Holland RIASEC (career interests), VARK (learning style) and a Career Values inventory. Who takes your session
Frequently asked questions — career counselling for college students
I'm in the wrong branch — is it too late to change direction?
Almost never. Depending on your year, options range from an internal branch switch to adding a specialisation, choosing electives strategically, or redirecting after graduation through a master's, certification or a first role in a different field. A session maps the lowest-cost route from where you are to where your aptitude actually points.
Should I do a master's or start working after graduation?
It depends on your target role, your field, and your finances — not on what your batchmates choose. Some careers reward experience first; others need a postgraduate qualification early. We work backward from the career you actually want and the strengths you actually have, so the choice is deliberate.
Can you help me decide about studying abroad?
Yes — from the fit side, which agents rarely cover. We assess whether study abroad genuinely serves your goals and profile before you commit to the cost, and help you choose a course and country on evidence. We don't sell applications, so the advice is neutral.
How much does a session cost?
The first 45-minute 1:1 session is ₹49 (regular ₹499). A free 60-second Career Snapshot is available with no payment, and the optional ₹999 Full Clarity Report adds a detailed psychometric profile before your session.
Is this only for school students, or for graduates too?
Both. Lume Live works with students from Class 9 through college and into early careers. If you're a working professional rethinking your path, see our dedicated career counselling for working professionals page.
