How an online session works
- Start with the free Career Snapshot. Sixty seconds, no payment, no sign-up. It gives the counsellor a first read of the student's interests. Take it here.
- Book a slot. On WhatsApp or the booking page, Monday to Saturday, 9am to 8pm IST.
- Meet on a video call for 45 minutes. The student and one or both parents join from home. We go through the assessment, what the student actually enjoys, their marks and the options in front of them.
- Leave with a written plan. A short roadmap the family can keep: the recommended direction, a realistic backup, and the next three things to do.
There are no compulsory packages. One session is complete on its own, and a deeper report or follow-up is only ever optional.
What families come to us for
- Stream after Class 10: PCM, PCB, Commerce with or without Maths, or Humanities. See the stream selection guide.
- Exams and courses after Class 12: JEE, NEET, CUET, CLAT, design and commerce routes, and whether a given exam actually fits the student. See after 12th.
- Drop-year and course-change decisions: a calm look at whether another attempt or a switch makes sense. See counselling for droppers.
- College students and graduates unsure what comes after BA, B.Com, B.Sc or B.Tech. See for college students.
- Working professionals thinking about a switch. See Lume Lens.
Book your ₹249 first session
45 minutes, 1:1 over video call (regular ₹499). Parents are welcome to join.
Does it work if you're not in Haryana?
Yes. Lume Live is based in Rohtak and every session is online, so it makes no difference whether you're in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai, Jaipur, Lucknow or a smaller town. You get the same counsellor, the same assessment and the same price. We don't have offices in other cities and we won't pretend to.
What does differ from state to state is the route into college, and we plan around yours:
- Your board. CBSE, ICSE or your state board each change how marks, subject combinations and board-exam pressure play out.
- Your state's entrance exams. Alongside JEE, NEET and CUET, many states run their own: MHT CET in Maharashtra, KCET in Karnataka, WBJEE in West Bengal, TS EAPCET in Telangana, KEAM in Kerala, GUJCET in Gujarat. A state seat is often the most realistic good option, so it belongs in the plan.
- Home-state quota and fees. Domicile seats and fee differences can change which college is actually the best choice for your family.
Validated assessment, never DMIT
Fingerprint-based "DMIT" career tests have no standing in mainstream psychology and cannot measure interests or aptitude. We use validated frameworks: Holland RIASEC for career interests, VARK for learning style, and a Career Values inventory, each explained in plain language before use. Why we don't offer DMIT.
What it costs, compared with the market
The first session is ₹249 with code FIRST50 (regular ₹499). Many Indian counsellors charge ₹2,000–3,000 a session, or require a package up front. There are no compulsory packages here. See services and pricing, or our guide to career counselling fees in India for what a fair session should include.
Who takes your session
Every enquiry reaches Lume Live's own counselling team, never a franchise partner or an outsourced call centre.
Frequently asked questions
Is online career counselling as good as meeting in person?
For career counselling, yes. What helps is a validated psychometric assessment followed by a careful 1:1 conversation, and both work fully over a video call. Online also makes it easier for both parents to join, which matters because most stream and college decisions are family decisions.
I live in Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata or another city far from Haryana. Can I still book?
Yes. Every session is online, so the counsellor, the assessment and the price are the same wherever you live. Lume Live is based in Rohtak, Haryana and has no offices in other cities; we say that plainly rather than pretending to be local.
Which languages are sessions in?
Hindi and English, or a mix of both. We do not currently offer sessions in other regional languages, so please check that one of these works comfortably for the student before booking.
How much does online career counselling cost?
The first 45-minute 1:1 session is ₹249 with coupon code FIRST50 (regular ₹499). The 60-second Career Snapshot is free, and the optional ₹999 Full Clarity Report adds a detailed psychometric profile. There are no compulsory packages.
Do you know my state board and my state's entrance exams?
We work with CBSE, ICSE and state-board students, and we look at your state's own entrance route alongside the national ones: for example MHT CET in Maharashtra, KCET in Karnataka, WBJEE in West Bengal, TS EAPCET in Telangana, KEAM in Kerala or GUJCET in Gujarat. We check current dates and rules with you in the session, because these change from year to year.
How do I book?
Message +91 70156 71280 on WhatsApp, or pick a slot on the booking page. Sessions run Monday to Saturday, 9am to 8pm IST. You can take the free Career Snapshot first and bring the result to the session.
