What anxiety counselling can help with in Sonipat
You don’t need a diagnosis to book, and you don’t need to be in crisis. These are the forms anxiety most often takes when people reach out:
A mind that jumps from one “what if” to the next and never quite settles, even when nothing’s wrong.
Racing heart, tight chest, a knotted stomach, restlessness, muscles that stay tense even at rest.
Sudden surges of fear with pounding heart and breathlessness — frightening, and very workable with support.
Lying awake with a racing mind, trouble concentrating, feeling on edge and exhausted at once.
Turning down things you want to do, or getting through them braced — the quiet cost anxiety adds up over time.
Blanking despite preparing, dread before presentations, panic that peaks at exactly the wrong moment.
What the pressure looks like here
Sonipat has changed fast. The campuses out towards Rai — Ashoka, the Jindal global university, the sports school — pull in students from across India and beyond into intense, high-achieving environments, most of them living away from home for the first time. The pressure there is comparison inside an exceptional peer group: very capable people quietly convinced they’re falling behind, on evidence that wouldn’t survive five minutes of scrutiny.
A few kilometres away is the other Sonipat — a Haryana town and an industrial belt around Kundli on the edge of Delhi NCR, with local students and families whose world is very different from the campuses next door. Both carry real strain; they just don’t look alike.
What they share is distance and newness. A first-year a long way from home, a student on a course that turned out wrong, a young person reading an unfamiliar room in an unfamiliar language — and the specific loneliness of being surrounded by people and still feeling that nobody really knows you.
How it works
The GAD-7 is a short, well-known anxiety scale. Two minutes, no sign-up, nothing saved — it helps you see how heavy things have got.
Pick a time from the live calendar and get the video-call invite straight away. Video, voice or chat — your choice.
45 minutes with the same counsellor every time. You leave with practical ways to turn the anxiety down, not a sales pitch.
What’s already available in Sonipat, and what’s missing
Sonipat sits close enough to Delhi that the serious clinical care — AIIMS, IHBAS and the rest — is within reach, and that’s the right route for a psychiatric assessment or anything severe. Several campuses here also run their own counselling cells.
What students hesitate over usually isn’t the counsellor but the closeness — a campus cell sits inside the same institution that touches your grades, your attendance and what gets said to your parents, and that’s enough to make people edit themselves. The much larger group whose problem isn’t clinical at all is left with little that feels genuinely outside.
This sits outside all of it. Nothing reaches your university or your family, and the first session is ₹249.
Confidential means confidential
- Nothing goes to your parents, school, college or employer. No report, no summary, not even confirmation that you turned up.
- A first name is enough to book. You don’t owe us your full name, and you don’t have to explain yourself in advance.
- The self-checks store nothing. Your answers sit in your browser and vanish when you close the tab.
- Sessions are online. No waiting room, nobody to bump into.
Who you’ll be talking to
Sachin Bajaj has an M.Sc in Clinical Psychology from Gurugram University and a PGDGC from Jamia Millia Islamia, and has worked with more than 500 students and families across India. You get the same counsellor every session — no app shuffling you between strangers who each need the story from the top.
What this is, and what it isn’t
It’s counselling support, not treatment: confidential conversations about what you’re carrying and what might help. We don’t diagnose conditions and we don’t prescribe medication, and this isn’t an emergency service. If what you describe needs a psychiatrist, your counsellor will tell you so in the first session and help you find one. You won’t be sold a package instead.
What a session costs in Sonipat
₹499 for 45 minutes, and your first one is ₹249 with the code FIRST50. Private counselling in India usually runs ₹1,500 to ₹3,000 a session. You’re not signing up for a course of treatment — you’re booking one conversation, and you can stop after it.

Frequently asked questions
Will my university or its counselling cell be told?
No. This is entirely outside your institution — no note to a cell, no attendance record, nothing to a warden or your parents. You can book using a first name only, which for a lot of students on these campuses is exactly why they use it.
Everyone around me seems to be doing better. Is that worth a session?
Yes, and it’s one of the most common things students here bring. Comparison inside a high-achieving peer group is a genuine and specific difficulty, and it responds well to being examined out loud with someone who isn’t in that peer group.
Is this available in Hindi?
Yes — Hindi or English, whichever you think in. A lot of students study in English and think in Hindi, and there’s no reason a session should run in the harder language.
I have backlogs or a course I regret, and my family doesn’t know. Can I talk about that?
Yes, and it’s very common. The academic problem and the growing gap with home are two different problems, and it usually helps to separate them before deciding anything.
Can counselling actually help my anxiety?
Yes. Anxiety is highly manageable — counselling helps you understand what keeps it going and build skills to lower it. For many people the change is large.
Is the anxiety check a diagnosis?
No. The GAD-7 is a brief reflection scale that tells you roughly how heavy the last couple of weeks have been. Only a qualified professional can diagnose, and your answers aren’t stored.
